About websitedownloader.org

websitedownloader.org is a free online tool for downloading entire websites as HTML+CSS+JS+images ZIP files. Unlike legacy tools like HTTrack or wget, we use headless Chrome to render JavaScript before capturing — which means modern websites built with React, Vue, Angular, and other frameworks are fully supported.

Built on Open Source

This tool is powered by websnap, an open-source website capture engine. websnap handles the heavy lifting: browser rendering, asset collection, framework detection, and ZIP packaging.

If you need more control — custom configurations, unlimited downloads, or integration into your own pipeline — you can install websnap directly via npm and use it from the command line.

The Team Behind It

websitedownloader.org is built by the team behind ui.rip, a UI reverse engineering platform that converts live websites into production-ready React and Next.js code. While ui.rip focuses on code generation for developers, websitedownloader.org serves anyone who needs to download a website — from researchers to content migrators to casual users.

How It Works

  1. You paste a URL into the tool on our homepage.
  2. We spin up a headless Chrome instance in the cloud.
  3. Chrome loads the page, executes all JavaScript, and waits for dynamic content.
  4. We capture the fully-rendered HTML along with all CSS, JavaScript, images, and fonts.
  5. Everything is packaged into a ZIP file and a download link is sent to your email.

Privacy

We don't require accounts or collect personal data beyond your email address (used solely to deliver the download link). Downloaded files are stored temporarily (up to 30 days) and then automatically deleted. We do not sell, share, or analyze the content of downloaded websites. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for ensuring your use of downloaded content complies with applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
